Hospital Playlist Triangle Kimbap (삼각김밥)

K-DramaHospital Playlist (슬기로운 의사생활)·The 99ers' late-night convenience store run — when you're a resident, triangle kimbap at 2AM is gourmet

Why this food?

The Korean convenience store triangle kimbap — the ultimate grab-and-go food from Hospital Playlist. Seasoned rice + tuna mayo filling, wrapped in crispy seaweed. Korean 편의점 culture in a triangle.

🇰🇷 K-Culture Tip

삼각김밥 was invented in Japan and adapted by Korean convenience stores (편의점) in the 1990s into a Korean institution. The 편의점 — open 24/7, on every corner — is one of Korea's most distinctive cultural spaces. Hospital Playlist's residents treat convenience stores like a second home: the 삼각김밥 peel-and-eat ritual is something every Korean knows.

Your Shopping List

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook and season 2 cups short-grain rice with 1 tbsp sesame oil + 1 tsp salt while still hot

  2. 2

Mix tuna filling: 1 can tuna (drained well) + 2 tbsp mayo + 1 tsp sriracha + pinch salt

  3. 3

Wet your hands with salted water — prevents sticking

  4. 4

Place a layer of rice on plastic wrap, add 1 tbsp filling in center, top with more rice

  5. 5

Shape into a tight triangle by folding plastic wrap around it and pressing firmly from all sides
